Don't be scared off

I needed to replace my old Panasonic 5.8 phone system. The old handsets had been dropped too many times, battery life had dropped to nothing and none of the replacement batteries were worthwhile.
Onto this product, however.
Reading the other reviews I was afraid that my GSM phone was going to cause it to drop calls. Fortunately that was NOT the case. I've had my GSM Moto Razor sitting next to the base and next to a handset and had no drop (some static, but no drops) when receiving a call.
The range is fantastic. Areas of my house where my phone used to lose connectivity are clear as a bell with the new phone.
A really pleasant surprise is the battery. Demonstrating some unheard of common sense the new device uses 2 AAA rechargeable batteries instead of a proprietary battery pack.
Summary:
Pros:
Good clarity
Great range
AAA rechargeable batteries
Corded handset on the base
Cons:
none so far...

Positives - Lots of great features. Highly recommend it and would purchase it again based on quality and price. The dialing buttons have improved dramatically since the last version. Most listeners are not aware when speaker phone is in use. No static or interference w/ speaker phone or cordless.
Negatives - Only wish it had an adapter on the MAIN BASE to accommodate a headset without buying a headset system. Also, turning ringers on and off should have a shortcut on the side of the phone. Not wall mountable. Cordless handset/base falls over. You can use earthquake putty on the cordless base to fix this.
Don't be deterred by the negative commments. The phone works great. |

| I used this to provide access to both our minimal land line and our VOIP. Our land line company is a mom & pop shop that allows minimal tranfer of numbers. Thus we would have a nightmare changing all of our primary contact numbers to a new number without actually moving. This unit enables us to continue to receive our calls on the land line and save tons by making all of our charge based calls on our VOIP. We have had no trouble with neighbors or our home wireless as expected. The calls are clear on the base and cordless units and even when on speaker. A little on the costly side but it should pay off in the long run. |

| This phone system makes our business run so much more smoothly. We love the flexibility of the 2-line cordless phone connected to the corded phone. It was easy to learn how to use, the buttons are good sized, it is back-lit, and the options for the ringer allow us to choose a pleasant tone plus ringer off option for night time. |

| I was a bit worried when I read other reviews that I would be disappointed with this phone. I decided to try it because I have had good experiences with Panasonic phones in the past and because the price was right. I am not at all sorry. Firstly, the range on this phone is much, much better than my old Panasonic 5.8 GHz. We have the base on the 1st floor and I can hear clearly both 2 flights up and in the basement. I like that the corded phone base has a caller ID display, and also that you can continue to make and receive calls even without power. My only complaint, which has come up many times in reviews, is that it is rediculous to have to push 3 buttons to see the missed call list. |
